Job Summary
Product managers are responsible for planning and developing the marketing strategy for a
single product or group of products. They work with various company departments, including
product development, market research, sales, advertising, and public relations and typically
report to a marketing manager or marketing director.
As Product Manager, you will guide a team that is charged with a product line contribution as a
business unit. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing
new products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop
new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects.
You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the
drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand
their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with an
engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing
communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product
positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external
evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key
customers.
A product manager's key role is strategic, not tactical. The other organizations will support your
strategic efforts; you won't be supporting their tactical tasks.
Primary Functions
- Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical
activities
- Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting
market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
- Driving a solution set across development teams through market requirements,
product contract, and positioning.4. Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all
departments to execute.
- Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – APPLICATION
- Product Demonstration and installation
1.1 Provides technical and clinical leadership during the pre-selling process by
demonstrating full range of product features including potential uses, product
capabilities and benefits to customers.
1.2 Determines, prepares and sets-up the equipment and its accessories during product
demo or installation; performs pre/post delivery inspection (PDI) of the equipment
and prepares Arrival Inspection Report (AIR).
1.3 Develops and maintains a mastery of the product/equipment in order to provide high
quality product presentation.
1.4 Coordinates with the Biomed Technician and/or Sales representative for the schedule
of product demo and installation.
1.5 Performs all the duties expected of the product manager, including conducting
customer visits, refining product strategy, conducting competitive analysis, delivering
quality requirements on time, and communicating to internal stakeholders.
- Training and after sales support
1.1 Provides clinical/application support to end users and develop, coordinate and deliver
product training on software, application and/or equipment use thereby maintaining
customer relationships after product delivery.
1.2 Educates the end-users on the proper handling, maintenance and other information
that they need to know about the equipment during installation.
1.3 Support trade shows and professional conferences by performing product
demonstration and promotion as well as customer training.
1.4 Represents the Company in attending local and/or overseas product training,
conventions and exhibits to enhance relevant knowledge, techniques and skills.
1.5 Produce well-written post-training reports and provide regular feedback on customer
satisfaction and needs within 7-days.
KEY RESPONISBILITIES – SALES AND MARKETING
- Sales Generation
1.1 Promotions and selling activities
1.1.1 Achieve specific sales objectives/targets of the product.
1.1.2 Creates and increases product awareness by conducting product
presentations and trials to prospective clients when necessary
1.1.3 Formulate and implement the marketing programs and strategies of the
division.1.1.4 Prepare quotations and coordinate with superiors on pricing policies
1.1.5 Participate in biddings by attending Pre-bid conferences and Bidding Session,
collects abstracts of bids and facilitates other documents and requirements
when necessary
1.1.6 Attend to customer needs and concerns.
1.1.7 Facilitate negotiations, close contracts / orders with clients within established
authority and seek support from management when necessary
1.2 Market information
1.2.1 Assists management in formulation of plans and strategies by providing
regular reports on current market situation.
1.2.2 Conducts market surveys and other activities assigned by management in
area assigned.
1.2.3 Monitor competitive activities and provide superiors with regular feedback.
1.3 Good customer relations
1.3.1 Provides efficient customer service by attending to customer complaints and
concerns.
1.3.2 Identifies key persons and decision makers, establishes and maintains
business contacts, prompt response to customer needs and concerns
1.3.3 Monitors customer needs and proposes action points to management to
assist him in achieving objectives
1.3.4 Strengthen and improve ties with customers
- Planning and Forecasting
2.1 Prepares Sales Funnel per Sales Executive
2.1.1 Collate all necessary market database to ensure accurate analysis of each
target hospital
2.1.2 Provide information needs towards the development of sales and marketing
plans and programs by collecting, organizing and submitting field sales data
gathered
- Facilitation / Processing
3.1 Efficient Order Processing System
3.1.1 Tracks sales order process and facilitates processing of orders
3.1.2 Ensures timely delivery of orders through proper channels
