
Assistant Finance Manager

Job Summary:
The Assistant Finance Manager role is well-suited for experienced accounting/finance professionals, having already managed a small team of direct reports and demonstrated cross-function collaboration. The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Senior Finance Manager in overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including preparing/updating budgets and forecasts, maintaining financial statements, and advising management on financial risks and decision-making. The Assistant Finance Manager must also possess a comprehensive working and practical knowledge of relevant financial reporting standards and tax regulations to ensure the company's compliance with statutory reporting and disclosure requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Check, verify, and approve transactions (bills, invoices, manual journals), ensuring that payments are valid, accurate and completely supported

Supervise quarterly and annual reconciliations

Analyze month-end financial reports and financial statements

Create budget and forecast reports and support cash flow forecasting and financial planning

Generate financial data and perform advanced analytics

Conduct industry financial trends analysis

Ensure compliance with relevant financial reporting standards and tax regulations

Support internal audit processes

Develop strategic business plans based on financial forecasts and advise management on financial decisions and risks

Coordinate with stakeholders and investors on financial matters
Requirements:
-
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy/Finance or any related business course; must be a Certified Public Accountant

With at least 4 years of audit/accounting/finance experience, preferably having worked in a Big 4 accountancy firm, corporate and/or shared services environment with fundamental and practical knowledge of relevant financial reporting standards and tax laws/regulations

Must have at least 2 years of experience managing a team of direct reports, including reviewing/approving work deliverables and/or transactions

Highly proficient with office productivity tools (MS Excel/Word/Outlook), enterprise accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics 365)

Aptitude for strategic and forward-oriented thinking; capable of providing creative solutions to complex problems and balancing short-term needs with long-term objectives while strictly upholding company policies and standards

Demonstrated leadership excellence; can inspire team members to achieve (and exceed) goals by exemplifying professionalism and work ethic

A champion negotiator and stakeholder manager; able to encourage "outside the box" thinking, resolve conflicts and drive consensus building

A track record of resilience and composure under pressure; capable of effectively prioritizing tasks and allocating resources under tight deadlines and providing clear and actionable directions during critical periods

Integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information

Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Mandarin/Cantonese fluency is a plus but not required.
