Pollution Control Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with DENR, DOLE, and LGU environmental laws, including RA 8749 (Clean Air Act), RA 9275 (Clean Water Act), and RA 6969 (Toxic Substances and Hazardous Waste Control Act).

  • Secure and maintain required environmental permits (e.g., Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), Permit to Operate (PTO), Discharge Permit).

  • Prepare and submit mandatory reports (e.g., Self-Monitoring Reports (SMR), Compliance Monitoring Reports (CMR), and Hazardous Waste Manifest Forms) to regulatory agencies.

  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and DENR-EMB, LLDA, DOLE, and other government agencies

  • Lead in conducting investigation of environmental issues and incidents

  • Liase with related government agencies, submit required reports and process all the necessary permits including permits for controlled chemicals under PDEA and PNP

  • Conduct regular environmental inspections, monitor site condition, make rectification and take improvement actions in EHS issues.

  • Conduct EHS induction and training

  • Develop and implement programs for air, water, and solid waste management to minimize environmental impact.

  • Assist government inspectors in the conduct of EHS inspections

  • May need to act as Safety Officer in the absence of the Safety Personnel

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, or equivalent), or related fields.

EXPERIENCE

  • With at least two years of experience in manufacturing company as Pollution Control Officer

  • Must have BOSH Training/Valid PCO License is an advantage

  • Must be computer literate

  • Has good comprehension of oral and written instructions

  • Physically fit and flexible with good attitude

  • Must be innovative and proactive
