Job Summary:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor / Contract Administrator is responsible for managing all costs and contractual matters related to construction projects, from pre-contract to final account. The role ensures that project costs are controlled, contracts are properly administered, and value for money is achieved while maintaining compliance with legal and contractual obligations.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Quantity Surveying Duties:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for projects.
  • Conduct cost analysis to monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports.
  • Evaluate variations, claims, and additional works.
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and validate claims.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including negotiation and payment certification.
  • Prepare final accounts and close-out reports.

2. Contract Administration Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and related documents.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
  • Administer contracts throughout project lifecycle, from pre-contract to close-out.
  • Review tender documents, specifications, and conditions of contract.
  • Identify potential risks, claims, or disputes and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of correspondence, contract documents, and variations.
  • Support project teams in contractual and commercial matters.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying and contract administration, preferably in [industry: construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, etc.]
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, FIDIC, and other standard forms of contract.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in cost management and contract administration software/tools.
