We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Solar Permitting Specialist to join our operations team. This role is essential in ensuring that residential solar projects move smoothly through the permitting process — from submission to approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit permit applications to local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) via online portals or mail-in (paper) submissions.
  • Conduct follow-ups with towns, building departments, and other permitting offices to check on application status, review timelines, or required payments.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (design, engineering, project management, and admin) to gather all necessary documents for permit submissions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all permit activities, communications, and status updates.
  • Troubleshoot any issues or rejections, ensuring resubmissions are handled promptly and correctly.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in solar permitting, construction permitting, or project administration preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when speaking with town offices or AHJs.
  • Ability to manage multiple submissions and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable working with online portals, spreadsheets, and project management tools.
