Job Summary

The Order Intake Specialist in healthcare manages and processes orders for medical supplies and equipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness while verifying patient and product details. This role will handle customer inquiries, coordinate with healthcare providers, and maintain documentation and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities


• Collect and accurately enter patient data into electronic health records (EHR) systems and sales orders.

• Pull patient information from various customer EHR systems such as EPIC, Cerner, and CareLink.

• Scrub fax intake documents and efficiently enter new referrals into the system.

• Understand how physician orders flow through various processing platforms.

• Gain proficiency in Brightree software workflow systems after training.

• Demonstrate competency in using Google Systems, including Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Docs.

• Apply basic knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) insurance billing, deductibles, and their relationship to ongoing orders.

• Maintain a basic understanding of inventory items related to patient care and orders.

• Collaborate with all internal departments to relay necessary information to facility staff and patients.

Qualifications and Requirements


• Ability to maintain a typing speed of 45+ wpm

• Competency in using Google Systems (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, etc.)

• Basic knowledge of inventory items

• Understanding of insurance billing and deductibles.

• Meticulous attention to detail ensuring accuracy in patient account notes and feedback.

• Clear and coherent in both oral and written, to effectively communicate with team members and patients.

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and regard for patient privacy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

Screening Criteria


• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in insurance billing/verification experience.

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare customer service.

• Bachelor's degree is not mandatory if the above preferences are met.

• Must have a stable employment history.
