About the Role:

Intellectual Property (IP) Specialists are a vital part of the legal team, providing essential support to attorneys, law departments, and the broader organization by performing specifically delegated substantive legal work in the area of intellectual property. Under the supervision of licensed counsel, the IP Specialist conducts legal research, prepares documentation, and assists in managing matters related to trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets.

This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple ongoing matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lawyers in monitoring court orders, deadlines, and case milestones.

    Draft and prepare legal pleadings, court filings, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Prepare and send correspondence to clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database for tracking cases, court orders, and legal documentation.
  • Manage document organization, including case files, exhibits, and supporting materials.
  • Conduct research on intellectual property cases, legal precedents, and regulatory updates.
  • Assist in preparing forms and templates for internal and client use.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely submission of filings and compliance with procedural requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Humanities, or a qualified pre-law course, preferably with a Paralegal Studies Certification/Degree
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

    Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with legal teams.
