Position Summary:
The Accounting Associate is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient management of financial processes related to billing, collection, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax computation, and filing. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can maintain financial accuracy while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Billing and Collection:
- Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices to clients.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments, ensuring timely collection of receivables.
- Reconcile customer accounts and address discrepancies or disputes.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate recording in the accounting system.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare payment schedules and process payments to vendors on time.
Tax Filing and Computation:
- Calculate and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns, including VAT, withholding taxes, and income tax.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines.
- Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and liaise with tax authorities when necessary.
Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
Compliance and Record-Keeping:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local laws, and financial regulations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
General Accounting Support:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support the finance team with ad hoc accounting tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in accounting or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of billing, accounts payable/receivable, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
