We are seeking a Machining Process Engineer to optimize our manufacturing operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and quality of our machining processes, from initial programming to final inspection. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem-solver with a strong background in CNC machining and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and operate CNC mills and lathes, including setting up machine parameters.
  • Interpret technical drawings and apply knowledge of GD&T to ensure precision.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques such as 8D and the 5 Whys to address manufacturing issues.
  • Create and maintain essential process documentation, including PFMEA and Work Instructions.
  • Perform time and motion studies to optimize routing and enhance efficiency.
  • Design and implement machining fixtures and cutting tools.
  • Conduct precision measurements using tools like calipers and micrometers to verify product quality.
  • Contribute to Lean Six Sigma initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in CNC programming and operation.
  • Education: A degree in a relevant technical field is preferred, but a strong background in machining is essential.
  • Skills: Expertise in technical drawing interpretation, problem-solving, and process documentation. Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certification is a significant advantage.
