I. POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee all accounting, taxation, and financial operations of Karofi Philippines, covering our retail stores nationwide.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Philippine accounting standards (BIR), and alignment with group financial policies under the supervision of the CFO & Overseas Business Director at the Vietnam Head Office.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Handle daily accounting operations: cash collection, expense entries, and store reconciliation.
  • Verify the accuracy of all transactions, journal entries, and ledger postings.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with BIR and Group policies.
  • Consolidate sales, expenses, and store-level P&L reports for submission to Vietnam HQ.

2. Cash Flow Control & Expense Recording

  • Monitor daily cash inflow/outflow of retail stores; ensure timely deposits and reconciliations.
  • Record and verify store operating expenses (rent, utilities, manpower, marketing, logistics).
  • Maintain cash records, petty cash logs, and ensure sufficient funds for operational payments.

3. Compliance & Taxation (BIR)

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of tax filings (VAT, withholding tax, income tax).
  • Handle statutory submissions for SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG.
  • Coordinate with external accounting/tax service providers for monthly and annual filings.
  • Maintain accounting and tax documentation ready for inspection.

4. Internal Control & Audit

  • Implement and maintain internal controls for retail cash handling and expense management.
  • Review and update accounting SOPs for stores and office operations.
  • Support internal/external audits and prepare required financial documentation.

5. Coordination & Support

  • Provide accounting reports and data to Vietnam HQ when required.
  • Support the Country Manager and retail team on accounting procedures, store reconciliation, and document compliance.
  • Assist in ERP updates, system entries, and accounting software improvements.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 2–4 years
    of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with BIR filing processes (VAT, withholding tax).
  • Experience in
    cash collection/store reconciliation
    is preferred.
  • Ability to prepare monthly accounting reports accurately.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Odoo, etc.).
  • English proficiency at a
    working communication level
    (reporting to Vietnam HQ).
