About the role

The Assistant Manager/Manager – Solutions Engineering & Pricing is a critical technical role responsible for designing innovative, cost-effective logistics solutions across Southeast Asia, with a primary focus on supporting major Anchor customer tender responses and new business development.

This role uniquely combines deep technical expertise in warehouse solution, material handling equipment (MHE), process design, and layout optimization with strong commercial acumen in pricing strategy, cost modelling, and rate build-up. The ideal candidate serves as a trusted solution partner to customers and internal stakeholders, capable of translating complex operational requirements into engineered solutions while ensuring commercial viability and competitive positioning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the company's key performance indicators by delivering an exceptional in-store experience. In order to do this, the candidate will build and train an effective team and effectively incorporate business trends and customer feedback into the training of employees.

Key Responsibilities

Solutions Engineering & Design

• Lead solution design for warehousing and contract logistics operations across SEA, including greenfield and brownfield projects
• Develop comprehensive process flows, warehouse layouts, and automation concepts for customer request for quotations (RFQs), tenders, and internal optimization projects
• Conduct requirement gathering sessions with customers and internal stakeholders, translating operational needs into detailed engineered solutions
• Perform capacity modelling, throughput analysis, and space utilization studies to optimize warehouse performance
• Prepare technical solution documentation including layout drawings, equipment specifications, process narratives, and implementation roadmaps

Pricing Modelling

• Develop detailed cost models for proposed solutions, including Operating Expense (OPEX) (labor, utilities, consumables) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) equipment, infrastructure, technology investments)
• Build rate build-up models and pricing structures aligned with customer requirements and DP World's margin targets
• Perform sensitivity analysis on pricing scenarios to support commercial negotiations and risk assessment
• Support tender pricing strategy, including value engineering options and tiered service offerings

Tender & Proposal Support

• Serve as technical or pricing lead for major customer tenders and RFQs across Southeast Asia.
• Prepare executive-ready solution presentations and commercial proposals that articulate value proposition and competitive differentiation
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, Security, OpEx) to develop comprehensive tender responses
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for prospective customer facilities
• Support customer presentations and negotiations, providing technical and commercial clarifications
• Ensure tender submissions meet quality standards and deadlines

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related technical field
• Professional certifications in warehouse design, automation, or project management (preferred)
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehousing, or 3PL environments with demonstrated exposure to:
• Solution design and warehouse layout planning
• Material handling equipment selection
• Pricing and cost modelling for logistics operations
• Customer-facing tender responses and proposal development
• Proven track record in customer-facing roles with ability to translate technical solutions into business value

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar layout design tools
• Advanced Excel for cost modelling, productivity calculations, and data analysis
• Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation technologies (preferred)

Commercial & Analytical Skills

• Strong pricing and financial modelling capabilities, including OPEX/CAPEX analysis and rate build-up
• Ability to develop competitive pricing strategies while ensuring profitability
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Data-driven decision-making using productivity benchmarks and industry standards

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive and customer audiences
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities
• Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Willingness to travel within SEA (10-15%) for site visits, customer meetings, and project support
