ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a mid-level AV Video Editor who can take raw audio and video assets

from podcasts and turn them into polished, high-converting final products. This role is for someone who can own the entire lifecycle of a media project—from ingesting footage to delivering export-ready files for podcasts, YouTube, ads, social reels, trailers, and

event promos.

You'll collaborate with our producers, social media team, and marketing to ensure every piece of content reflects the: high-quality, science-forward, punchy, and performance-optimized across all platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Podcast Editing (Audio + Video)

• Edit weekly episodes of The Podcast (long-form + clips).

• Sync multi-camera video with multi-track audio.

• Clean, level, and enhance vocal audio (EQ, compression, noise reduction).

• Add lower thirds, graphics, and animated elements.

• Create short clips and YouTube shorts from episode highlights.

• Deliver final exports for YouTube, podcast platforms, and social.

YouTube Video Editing

• Edit long-form YouTube videos, explainers, product videos, educational content, and interviews.

• Add B-roll, sound design, transitions, graphic callouts, and dynamic pacing to match the Dave Asprey brand voice.

• Deliver metadata-ready versions optimized for retention and watch-time.

Trailers, Reels & Event Content

• Produce trailer-style edits for product launches, live events, and brand campaigns.

• Create fast-cut, high-retention reels/shorts for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

• Edit event recaps, highlight reels, and sizzle videos with music, motion graphics, and on-

brand pacing.

AV Workflow Management

• Organize footage, sync files, manage storage, and maintain clean project timelines.

• Build repeatable templates for podcast episodes, reels, and YouTube formats.

• Collaborate with producers to maintain a high-quality visual brand standard.

• Deliver files in correct aspect ratios: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, and 4:5.

• Export and deliver all final outputs on deadline.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (Mid-Level)

Technical Skills

• Adobe Premiere Pro (expert-level)

• Adobe Audition or Pro Tools (strong audio editing skills)

• After Effects (Expertise in motion graphics, animated titles, lower thirds)

• Photoshop or Canva (basic image editing + thumbnail creation)

• DaVinci Resolve (bonus, color grading experience preferred)

• Multi-camera editing + multi-track audio syncing

• Audio cleanup: noise reduction, EQ, compression, mastering

• Understanding of YouTube SEO, retention strategies, pacing

Experience

• 3–5+ years of editing experience in a professional environment

• Experience editing long-form podcasts (audio + video)

• Experience editing YouTube videos with strong retention metrics

• Experience creating promotional trailers, event reels, and short-form content

• Familiarity with scientific/health content preferred (or strong willingness to adapt)

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, content-heavy environment

• Experience collaborating with content producers, social teams, and marketing stakeholders

• Thumbnail design ability (highly preferred)
