Software QA Tester

BSD Education is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Software QA Tester to join our team working on our EdTech platform, BSD Online, a platform which is used by tens of thousands of teachers and students worldwide. You will play a critical role in ensuring our platform provides a seamless and high-quality learning experience for tens of thousands of teachers and students worldwide. This role is primarily focused on manual testing, but your experience with automated testing will be highly valued as we continue to evolve our processes. As part of a small, dedicated development team, your work will have a high impact and visibility. We're looking for someone who is passionate about quality, eager to share their opinions, and dedicated to improving the customer experience. What You'll Do

● Manual & Exploratory Testing: Design, create, and execute detailed manual test plans, test cases, and checklists for new features and bug fixes on the BSD Online platform.

● Content Quality Assurance: Test our educational content, including interactive programming courses, to ensure they are accurate, functional, and provide an excellent learning experience for students.

● Bug Tracking & Reporting: Identify, document, and meticulously track bugs and usability issues in our bug-tracking system (e.g., Jira), providing clear and detailed steps for replication.

● Regression Testing: Perform thorough regression testing before releases to ensure that new changes haven't negatively impacted existing functionality.

● Collaboration: Work closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements, verify bug fixes, and provide feedback on usability and design.

● Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes and standards. Who We Are Looking For

● Proven Experience: You have 2+ years of professional experience in a software quality assurance role.

● Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for detail and a passion for uncovering hard-to-find bugs.

● Strong Communicator: You can clearly and concisely document bugs and communicate your findings to the technical team.

● Proactive & Self-Motivated: You are a fast learner who can work independently in a remote environment and manage your time effectively.

● Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are willing to share your expertise to help the team succeed

Nice to Have

● Automation Experience: Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, or Playwright.

● Technical Skills: A basic understanding of JavaScript, web technologies, and browser developer tools.

● API Testing: Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman.

● EdTech Background: Previous experience working in the education technology sector.

The main services we use are Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Elastic Beanstalk, Route 53, API Gateway, Kinesis, and Elastic Map Reduce.
