IT Operations Officer

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on IT experience in systems administration or technical support.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation certification is required.
  • Strong background in IT hardware and software support.

Technical Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, and general networking concepts.
  • Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Windows (Active Directory, Group Policies), Linux (disk management, extensions), VMware (resource allocation), Exchange, IIS, and SQL Server environments.

Key Responsibilities

Systems & Support

  • Install, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems supporting managed services, corporate applications, and site operations.
  • Provide Level 1 technical support, ensuring quick and effective resolutions.

Monitoring & Supervision

  • Proactively monitor servers, services, and backups via a centralized monitoring system.
  • Generate incident alerts, create and manage tickets, and prepare system and incident reports.
  • Continuously improve system monitoring features for better visibility and performance.

Backup & Activity Logs

  • Manage backup and restore operations, including tape rotation and issue reporting.
  • Ensure scheduled activities and logs are properly executed and documented.

Ticket Management

  • Handle and track incident and request tickets from creation to closure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, documenting solutions in the knowledge base.
  • Process user requests such as account setups and configuration changes.
  • Implement approved system change requests and deployment plans.

Platform Delivery

  • Review technical specifications and diagrams for system capacity and configuration.
  • Install and configure Windows and Linux platforms according to standards.
  • Maintain updated deployment documentation and post-implementation reports.
