The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the implementation, operation, and optimization of the company's privately owned cloud infrastructure. This role supports the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure services across compute, storage, and network layers. The engineer will contribute to capacity planning, health monitoring, maintenance activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless infrastructure support for cloud solutions. This role also assists in vendor coordination and supports infrastructure expansion initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Operations

· Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and availability of cloud infrastructure components.

· Execute routine maintenance activities, upgrades, and patching schedules to ensure system reliability and security.

· Respond to incidents and perform root cause analysis to resolve infrastructure-related issues.

Capacity Planning & Optimization

· Support capacity management efforts by analyzing usage trends and forecasting resource requirements.

· Implement performance tuning and resource optimization strategies to improve infrastructure efficiency.

Implementation & Support

· Assist in the deployment and configuration of infrastructure services including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization.

· Collaborate with Cloud Solution Architects and other technical teams to support solution delivery and integration.

Monitoring & Automation

· Utilize monitoring tools to track infrastructure metrics and generate reports for performance and availability.

· Contribute to automation initiatives using scripting and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools to streamline operations.

Documentation & Compliance

· Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and operational standards.

· Ensure compliance with internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

Vendor Coordination

· Support vendor-related activities including hardware/software procurement, issue resolution, and service delivery.

· Assist in evaluating new technologies and tools to enhance infrastructure capabilities.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or systems administration.

· Experience working in private cloud environments and enterprise infrastructure setups.

Technical Skills

· Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM), storage systems, and networking fundamentals.

· Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools and automation frameworks.

· Experience with Kubernetes, AI workloads, or cloud-native infrastructure components is a plus.

Soft Skills

· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

· Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

· Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications (Preferred)

· Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional, Red Hat Certified Engineer, or equivalent.

· ITIL Foundation or other operations-related certifications are a plus.
