Role Overview

Must be working hand in hand with the Senior Forester. Who is responsible for modular planning in various sites combining and blending land restoration methos, support mapping, site assessment, technical planning, community nursery development, planting program, and has the working knowledge in calculating tree biomass and carbon stoks including but not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Senior Forester
  • Executes modular planting activities in various sites combining and blending land restoration methods (assisted natural regeneration, enrichment planting, reforestation, based on site viability as well as company – approved planting modules utilizing optimum carbon yield
  • Supports mapping, site assessment, technical planning, community nursery development, planting program (including indigenous forest tree species selection, weed management, forest fire prevention, community refo contracting), carbon rights agreement documentation, monitoring and evaluation in coordination with various Kennemer groups
  • Working knowledge in calculating tree biomass and carbon stock from allometric equations and standard SOPs/protocols in forestry and mangrove biomass inventory

Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS Forestry, selected short-courses on agro-forestry and/or social forestry
  • Minimum 5 years in community – based reforestation and conservation (optional: mangrove restoration and conservation experience)
  • Strong statistical skills including calculating tree biomass and carbon stock from allometric equations
  • Leading a forestry team in regular sample biomass inventory activities in both agroforestry and forest conservation settings
  • Digital mapping background using standard smartphone-based apps
  • High dedication to conservation, sustainable development, and climate action
  • Proficiency in Visayan preferred
