We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with a strong background in Mainframe development, CICS, and backend batch processing. The successful candidate will lead a team of developers, ensuring high-quality code delivery, system stability, and performance optimization. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and leadership capabilities to drive end-to-end project execution in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of mainframe developers, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and related technologies.
  • Manage backend batch processing systems, ensuring efficient scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Provide technical direction for complex system enhancements and integrations.
  • Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and root cause analysis of system issues.
  • Support Agile/Waterfall project methodologies as needed, ensuring on-time and quality delivery.
  • Drive automation and optimization in mainframe processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe development (COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM).
  • Strong expertise in CICS (Customer Information Control System) for online transaction processing.
  • Solid experience in backend batch processing systems and job scheduling.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior developers, and manage multiple deliverables.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in banking/financial systems or large-scale enterprise environments is a plus.
