Technical Solutions Architect/Technical Lead

Department: IT (Information Technology)

Reports to: Applications Development Head

Location: Makati, Philippines

Role Summary

We are looking for a Technical Solutions Architect/Technical Lead to design, build, and lead the development of next-generation applications for our non-life insurance business. You will be responsible for driving the technical direction of mission-critical systems (policy administration, claims, accounting, agent/partner portals), ensuring scalability, security, and performance in line with business needs and regulatory requirements.

As the technical authority, you will lead, guide and mentor a team of developers, collaborate with business stakeholders, and ensure solutions are delivered on modern, cloud-native architectures. This is an opportunity to modernize and digitize our core insurance platforms and to work on cutting-edge cloud-native solutions in the insurance space.

Key Responsibilities


• Define and own the technical architecture of the applications (underwriting, claims, finance, portals).


• Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.


• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and performant technical designs.


• Oversee front-end ) and back-end ) development across projects.


• Implement cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using GCP's various services and products.


• Ensure systems comply with insurance regulatory standards, security controls, and data privacy/protection policies.


• Manage technical debt, improve DevOps pipelines (CI/CD), and optimize cloud costs.


• Collaborate with vendors, third-party system providers, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.


• 7+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or architect role.


• Strong practical expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, ,


• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL/PostgreSQL, IAM, Networking).


• Strong background in RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration architectures.


• Knowledge of insurance domain applications (policy, claims, finance) is a must.


• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
