Key Control Tester

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform key control testing (First Line of Defense) following global procedures and SOx requirements.
  • Conduct readiness checks (test plans, risk details) before execution.
  • Understand processes, perform walkthroughs, and review control design and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations (SOx, GDPR, ISAE, etc.).
  • Document results, recommend improvements, and report risks/issues.
  • Monitor progress and provide updates to control owners/SPOCs.
  • Coordinate testing from start to finish of the company policies.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive solutions.
  • Escalate issues timely and clearly.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of risk and controls; able to perform testing independently.
  • Resourceful and able to navigate a large, complex organization.
  • Experience with financial, regulatory, and compliance processes (SOx preferred).
  • Skilled in MS Office; Power BI/Power Automate knowledge is a plus.
  • 2+ years in audit, risk, or control testing (preferred).
  • CIA/CPA certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments, meets deadlines, handles ambiguity well.
