VA for Ophthalmology Job Description:
- Phone Call Management:
Handle 10-20 inbound calls daily.
Address inquiries related to scheduling, insurance order status(glasses/contracts), and general patient concerns.
- Scheduling:
Book and manage patient appointments.
Coordinate follow-ups and cancellations as needed.
- Referrals:
Learn and manage prior authorizations (PA)
Pull required authorizations the night before the patient's visit.
- Insurance Verification:
Verify insurance via online portals or calls.
Familiarity with providers such as IMED, Medicare, BCBS, Cigna Humana and Kaiser
- Prior Authorizations & Benefits Checks:
Complete prior authorization request and confirm patient benefits before appointments.
- General Administrative Tasks:
Reconcile reports into the CRM.
Track and record insurance company payments. Once performance meets standards, potential for expanded responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- With excellent communication skills (Verbal & written)
- Fluency in English with clear verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to quality work and consistent performance.
- Reliable, high speed internet connection
- College degree (Preferred)
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Takes Initiative and demonstrates accountability.
- Experience in ophthalmology is a plus.
- Collaborative and tea-oriented
- Willing to train and willing to render graveyard shift.
