Your Role:
As a Lead UI/UX Design Engineer, you will:
  • Lead the development, evolution, and maintenance of the company's design system and component library (based on Mantine).
  • Design and implement reusable UI components that align with usability, accessibility, and technical best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, stakeholders, and engineers to translate user needs into elegant, functional interfaces.
  • Build and maintain responsive, accessible interfaces across various web applications.
  • Establish and enforce design standards, patterns, and best practices across the platform.
  • Conduct and lead user research and usability testing to validate and refine design decisions.
  • Mentor junior design engineers, providing guidance on UI/UX principles and technical implementation.
  • Review component implementations for consistency, quality, and adherence to the design system.
  • Document component usage, variants, and guidelines for wider engineering and product teams.
  • Stay informed about UI/UX trends, emerging technologies, and innovations to continuously improve our design system.
What You Need:
Non-negotiables
  • 5+ years of UI/UX design engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS practices.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries (e.g., Mantine, Material UI, Chakra UI).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX design and technical component implementation.
  • Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and their implementation.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) for collaborating, documenting, and articulating design concepts.
  • Proficiency in Mac or Linux development environments.
  • Availability to collaborate during US Eastern Time core hours (10 AM - 6 PM).
  • Experience mentoring and guiding designers and engineers on UI/UX best practices.
  • Ability to optimize frontend performance and conduct performance audits.
Preferred skills/expertise
  • Experience in advertising technology, marketing analytics, or financial platforms.
  • Knowledge of data visualization libraries and techniques.
  • Experience implementing complex forms and validation logic in React applications.
  • Familiarity with design systems at scale across multi-app environments.
  • Understanding of micro-interactions and animation in React interfaces.
  • Experience integrating GraphQL data into UI components.
  • Background in user psychology or human-computer interaction.
  • Contributions to open-source design systems or component libraries.
  • Strong grasp of first principles and strategic technical thinking applied to UI/UX challenges.
