Job Description:
Unity Developers (mid-level) create engaging playable ads and high-quality gaming experiences. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Unity, Unreal Engine, and other relevant platforms, leveraging tools like Luna by Unity (Playworks) to develop interactive 2D and 3D ad experiences for mobile games. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, artists, and programmers to deliver captivating gameplay mechanics, seamless performance, and integrated advertising solutions.
Key Responsibilities:Game Development & Programming:
- Design and develop interactive playable ads (2D and 3D) using Unity and Luna by Unity (Playworks).
- Collaborate with the Creative Team (Graphic Designers, Animators, and 3D Artists) to integrate assets, animations, and UI into game features and playable ads.
- Implement engaging game mechanics, UI interactions, and ad logic to maximize user engagement.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in C# to ensure stable and scalable systems.
- Work with other developers to integrate core gameplay features, including physics, AI, and animations.
Cross-Engine Collaboration:
- Utilize expertise across multiple game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot) to select the best tools for each project.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize and integrate assets and features across engines as needed.
- Adapt to project-specific requirements by switching between engines when necessary.
Optimization & Performance Tuning:
- Optimize playable ads for performance, load times, and file size to meet ad network specifications (e.g., under 10MB).
- Enhance game performance across platforms (mobile, PC, console, VR/AR) by improving memory usage, frame rates, and responsiveness.
- Profile, debug, and resolve performance issues to ensure a seamless user experience.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Partner with designers, artists, and developers to meet project deadlines and technical requirements.
- Contribute technical insights during planning and brainstorming sessions to shape game features.
- Participate in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback to maintain high-quality code.
Testing & Debugging:
- Test and iterate on playable ad prototypes to ensure functionality and quality.
- Conduct thorough debugging to resolve bugs and technical issues across systems.
- Document code and features clearly for maintainability and team collaboration.
Game Deployment & Maintenance:
- Support the deployment of playable ads across platforms, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Assist with post-launch updates, bug fixes, and feature iterations based on analytics and user feedback.
- Align ad creatives with marketing goals and game branding in collaboration with relevant teams.
Continuous Learning & Growth:
- Stay current with trends in mobile advertising, Unity development, and interactive ad formats.
- Proactively enhance technical skills by exploring new tools, platforms, and languages.
- Suggest improvements to the studio's development pipeline and workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with VR/AR or multiplayer game development.
- Knowledge of shaders, visual effects, or 2D/3D asset integration.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
- Previous work on mobile game deployment (iOS/Android).
- Unity game development experience, ideally with playable ads, hyper-casual games, or interactive projects.
- Proficiency in C# and Unity's 2D/3D systems; experience with other engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Godot) is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Luna by Unity (Playworks) or similar ad development tools.
- Strong knowledge of mobile optimization techniques (e.g., file size reduction, FPS improvement, asset management).
- Familiarity with ad networks (e.g., Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, ironSource) and their integration.
- Understanding of game physics, UI/UX design, and animation implementation in Unity.
- Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Solid grasp of game design principles, algorithms, and data structures.
