Position Summary

The Project Development Director will lead the origination, structuring, and execution of BESS, hybrid and microgrid projects in the Philippines. The role requires deep knowledge of the local regulatory environment, proven expertise in project development, and the ability to manage stakeholders across technical, commercial, and financial functions. This leader will play a pivotal role in driving the company's energy storage and microgrid strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of BESS, hybrid and microgrid projects from origination through to financial close and execution.
• Identify, assess, and secure viable project opportunities, including greenfield development and partnerships.
• Navigate permitting, licensing, and regulatory processes to ensure project compliance.
• Build strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, utilities, and key local stakeholders.
• Oversee feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Structure and negotiate project agreements, including land, grid, offtake, and EPC contracts.
• Work closely with internal investment teams to support financial modeling, due diligence, and risk assessment.
• Monitor industry trends, policy developments, and incentive schemes to inform strategy.
• Represent the company in stakeholder meetings, industry forums, and public consultations.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project development teams, ensuring high performance and delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project development within renewable energy, power, or energy storage sectors.
• Proven track record in delivering BESS, hybrid or microgrid, or related infrastructure projects in the Philippines.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, and energy market dynamics in the Philippines.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially astute with experience structuring project agreements and navigating financial close.
• Leadership experience with the ability to manage cross-functional project teams.
• Strong passion for sustainability and advancing clean energy solutions.
