GENERAL DESCRIPTION

A. Major Roles

· In general, act as a liaison between the client and Philippine government agencies, meeting all legal requirements for Import and Export customs clearances by reviewing and declaring the classification of goods, type of entry, computation of tariff code for duties and taxes, and submitting it to Bureau of Customs authorities.

· Overseeing all processes and documentation requirements, as well as ensuring compliance with customs tariffs and laws.

· Manage all personnel by providing proper training and orientation to all employees, and also up to date on all Philippine Bureau of Customs, agencies related regulatory changes and administrative orders.

· Responsible for cargo declaration by classifying types of importations/entry into the Philippines, as to whether the commodities are free importable, regulated, prohibited, or conditionally free importation. (Consumption, Transhipment-PEZA, Warehousing (CBW) entries.)

· Responsible for cargo declaration by categorizing kinds of exports/entry departing from the Philippines as general cargo, regulated, prohibited, or conditionally free exportation.

· Reassess duties and tax computations, declarations, and lodgements prepared by the Declarant prior to entry filing on the BOC portal/VASP.

· Verifies items shipped by matching bill of ladings, delivery receipt or other pertinent documents, reconciling quantities and noticing discrepancies.

· Monitors BOC portal/VASP responses, as well as the submission of FAN/SAD/SSDT to the consignee and other involved parties.

· Monitors the consignee's payment of duties and taxes and transmits it completely to the BOC via VASP.

· Attend and assist Processors in dealing with customs officers for problematic entries such as those hit by valuation, mismatched documents vs. actual, or missing regulatory documents to pursue customs clearance and releasing.

· Deals with customs directly and provides consignees with requirements for abandoned shipments.

· Aims to assist customers register for and renew their CPRS or export licenses in full compliance with BOC mandatory imports and exports in the Philippines.

· Address to cargo identified with a Bad Order Report (BOR) prior to cargo release from the carrier's designated warehouses.

· Submit incident reports in support of the BOR/survey report for cargo that may be subject to claims.

· Troubleshoots customer issues involving the technicalities of customs concerns.

· Responsible for training and orientation of newly hired CSR, processors and messengers; provides direction, delegate tasks, and monitors performance.

· Establish creative, honest, and positive work attitudes to the subordinates with a high standard of work ethics.

· Support management in the implementation of company directives that must be followed by all employees.

· Promotes and initiates participation in the company's offer to attend customs-related seminars, as well as programs relevant to freight forwarding and logistics procedures, and the like.

· Prevent disrupting operations by establishing balance schedules of subordinates in respect of vacation, sick and emergency leaves, field-work activity, and scheduled personnel attending trainings and seminars.

B. Other Duties

· Assist Sales and Customer Service in communicating with customers if customs officers issue a temporary assessment notice (TAN) routed as YELLOW, ORANGE AND RED and the shipment is subjected to examination and inspection by customs authorities.

· Ensures to Customer Service that container detention and demurrage (DEM/DET) as well as storage do not exceed the carriers' specified free-times. Excessive free time should be communicated to the customer clearly.

· The Customs Broker must also keep track of container deposits and refunds from customer service if they are refunded to shipping lines.

· Work closely with other operations departments to ensure the truck availability, gate-pass, processing, and courier services are available upon customs clearance and ready for cargo releasing in designated carrier's warehouses for delivery to customer.

· Recommends best practices and processes to support the company in improving processes.

· Participates in customer SOP meetings, briefings, orientations and creation.

· Supporting the customer's SOPs and the agreed-upon rates while processing customs clearances.

· Responsible for ensuring that cash advances, liquidations, and refunds issued to the Operations Department are submitted and reported to the Accounting Department on time.

· Responsible for timely submission of all transaction files to the billing department. In the event of an issue with a transaction file, escalate it to the salesperson in charge so that the commercial agreement may be finalized and the file can be closed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php25, Php30,000.00 per month
