As a Virtualization Engineer, your contributions will ensure the performance, reliability, and security of the technologies that help protect lives—advancing our shared goal of a safer world.

THE ROLE

• You will work hands-on as a Linux/KVM specialist who can build and operate secure, high-availability virtualization platforms under strict offline and security-controlled conditions.
• This position also anchors System Security's malicious software protection strategy across Windows and Linux environments.

MAIN TASKS

• Design, deploy, and operate KVM-based virtualization environments (RHEL 8/9, libvirt, qemu-kvm, oVirt/RHV, or Proxmox).
• Configure Open vSwitch, SR-IOV, DPDK, and advanced networking for VM clusters.
• Implement HA, live migration, backups, golden images, and capacity monitoring.
• Support VMware → KVM migrations: compatibility checks, driver strategy (VirtIO), testing, rollback.
• Manage and automate builds via Ansible, version control, and compliance playbooks.
• Integrate and maintain the malicious software protection stack as defined by System Security for Windows and Linux (Defender, WDAC, AppLocker, ClamAV, SELinux, fapolicyd, AIDE, Carbon Black).
• Build offline update and patch repositories for air-gapped systems (YUM/DNF mirrors, WSUS).
• Collaborate with network and system architects to ensure secure configuration baselines and compliance with System Security guidelines.
• Document and hand over solutions to operations with clear runbooks and troubleshooting guides.

KNOW-HOW AND EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of Linux administration with at least 3 years on KVM in production.
• Deep knowledge of RHEL 8/9, system tuning, and hardening.
• Proven deployment experience with SELinux, fapolicyd, AIDE, and ClamAV.
• Experience integrating Defender, WDAC, AppLocker, and Carbon Black in mixed Windows/Linux environments.
• Strong automation background (Ansible, bash, Python).
• Demonstrated success in creating offline or isolated infrastructure environments.

NICE TO HAVE

• Familiarity with VMware vSphere and migration planning.
• Knowledge of Ceph, NFS, iSCSI, or similar shared storage.
• Monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Elastic).
• Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, EX318, or security-related credentials.
