Key Responsibilities
A. Tax Compliance & Advisory (Primary)

  • Prepare, review, and file the following BIR returns (as applicable to client profile), including supporting schedules and attachments:

  • Withholding Taxes: 1601-C, 1601-EQ, 0619-E/F; Forms 2307/2316; Monthly Alphalists (MAP/SAWT) and Annual Alphalists (DAT).

  • VAT / Percentage Tax: 2550-M/2550-Q (VAT) or 2551-Q (PT), with summary listings (e.g., SLSP/RELIEF when required).
  • Income Tax: 1701/1701-Q (individuals) and/or 1702-RT/EX/MX, 1702-Q (corporations).
  • Manage eBIRForms/eFPS preparation, validation, and e-payment processing (per client authorization and firm policy).
  • Maintain tax calendars; ensure 100% on-time and error-free submissions, reconciled to TB/GL.
  • Prepare basic tax analyses (e.g., VAT reconciliation, BIR Form tie-ups, WTX vs. claims, NOLCO/MCIT tracking).
  • Assist in handling BIR notices, LOAs, and assessments (document gathering, reconciliations, draft responses).
B. General Accounting & Period Close
  • Perform day-to-day GL work: journal entries, accruals/deferrals, bank and account reconciliations, AR/AP aging, FA roll-forward, inventory movements, and intercompany entries.
  • Execute month-end close checklists; ensure completeness, cut-off, and classification in accordance with PFRS/PFRS for SMEs.
  • Prepare trial balances, lead schedules, and working papers with clear audit trails and cross-references.
  • Generate client deliverables: management reports, FS drafts (SOFP, SOPL, SOCIE, SOCF, notes templates), and variance analyses.
  • Support audit readiness (sampling support, pull of documents, impairment/NRV tests per instructions).
C. Client & Engagement Management
  • Coordinate with client focal points to obtain requirements, clarify issues, and confirm deliverables.
  • Track engagement budgets, hours, and deadlines; escalate scope changes and risks promptly.
  • Contribute to process improvement (standardized templates, automation via Excel Power Query, controls checklists).
