Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of our railways project. The role involves assisting with project planning, coordination, and execution while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, with proven experience in infrastructure or railway-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning Support

• Assist in developing project execution plans, work breakdown structures, and resource allocation strategies.

• Provide input to ensure project milestones and objectives are clearly defined and achievable.

• Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and government agencies to ensure smooth project execution.

• Support communication and alignment between all stakeholders, addressing concerns and ensuring timely resolution of issues.

• Budget and Cost Control

• Monitor project expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets.

• Support cost forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis to maintain financial control.

• Schedule Management

• Track project progress against timelines and assist in identifying potential delays.

• Recommend corrective actions to keep the project on schedule.

• Quality Assurance Support

• Ensure compliance with technical standards, specifications, and contractual requirements.

• Support quality inspections, audits, and testing processes.

• Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and records.

• Provide regular progress updates for management and stakeholders.

• Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Support the implementation of HSE policies and procedures across project activities.

• Ensure safety and environmental standards are followed at all times.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience:
  
  At least 10 years of work experience, with railway systems as a strong advantage.
• Leadership:
  
  Proven track record in teamwork, leading teams, and fostering collaborative success.
• Management Skills:
  
  Demonstrated ability to manage diverse teams and coordinate effectively.
• Technical Expertise:
  
  Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools like Primavera and MS Project.
• Flexibility:
  
  Willing to work in the Philippines and travel domestically as required.
• Communication:
  
  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a problem-solving mindset.
• Project Oversight:
  
  Skilled in chairing progress meetings to ensure successful project delivery and outcomes.

Qualification Standards:

• Licensed Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE), duly registered with the PPRC.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in the electrical engineering field.
• Equivalent to at least 10 CPD points as required by PRC guidelines for professional license renewal, based on extensive practice and technical involvement in the industry.
• Strong background in power systems design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance for telecom facilities.
• Proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or other electrical simulation and drafting software.
• Solid knowledge of AC/DC systems, load computation, grounding design, surge protection, and backup power systems (e.g., UPS, generators, battery banks).
• Familiar with relevant electrical codes (PEC), safety protocols (OSHA), and international telecom standards.
• Excellent communication, technical documentation, and coordination skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams and mentor junior engineers or technical staff.
