Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy construction equipment, vehicles, and support machinery. This role ensures that all assets are in optimal working condition, minimizing equipment downtime and supporting the smooth execution of all construction operations. The position involves supervising maintenance teams, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise maintenance operations for heavy equipment and company vehicles across all project sites.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules based on manufacturer guidelines and operational demands.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of mechanics, electricians, and service personnel.
  • Oversee diagnostic and repair work related to hydraulic systems, electrical components, and computer/electronic controls.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify recurring mechanical issues; recommend corrective and improvement measures.
  • Coordinate with the Operations and Logistics departments for equipment mobilization, repair scheduling, and site readiness.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and materials by managing inventory and coordinating with the procurement team.
  • Review and approve job orders, maintenance logs, and service reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and prepare budget reports to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Enforce compliance with safety, environmental, and company maintenance policies at all times.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the workshop and project sites to ensure maintenance standards are being met.
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers, dealers, and third-party service providers for major repairs, technical assistance, or warranty claims

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Professional license (Mechanical Engineer) preferred but not required.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Background in the construction industry or heavy equipment rental/logistics preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong knowledge of heavy equipment systems (hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic).

Excellent leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.

Proficiency in maintenance planning, scheduling, and cost control.

Familiarity with maintenance management software or digital tracking tools.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.

Effective communication and coordination skills across departments.

Safety-oriented mindset with strict adherence to company and legal standards.
