About the Role

We are looking for a Business Analyst – Data Modelling / Change Expert to join our Data Delivery team. This role is ideal for data-driven professionals who are passionate about ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality in financial and risk data management.

You will help build a unified, reliable source of truth for finance and risk data used across analysis, accounting, and regulatory reporting functions. This position plays a key role in transforming the organization's approach from report-driven to data-driven decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst – Data Modelling / Change Expert, you will:

  • Collect, define, and document detailed business data requirements.
  • Support data management and governance activities for Finance and Risk data.
  • Participate in end-to-end data flow analysis, onboarding, and data modelling processes.
  • Collaborate with data modelers to develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Create and validate data mappings from source to target systems.
  • Perform reconciliation, functional testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Translate regulatory requirements into data and reporting specifications.
  • Monitor and communicate project progress, dependencies, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the improvement of data management principles, standards, and documentation.
  • Configure business rules, build reports, and support operational requests related to data delivery.

You should have:

  • A strong understanding of finance and accounting principles.
  • The ability to empathize with business needs and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • A continuous learning mindset with a drive for improvement.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data models clearly.

Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience sourcing, classifying, and onboarding data across business areas.
  • Solid background in data management and large dataset analysis.
  • Hands-on proficiency in SQL (preferably Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical).
  • Knowledge of change management in an agile delivery environment (impact analysis, configuration, and testing).
  • Experience with regression testing and UAT.
  • Background in statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.

Desired Skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret logical data models.
  • Experience improving financial reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with retail banking products from a finance or accounting perspective.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g., FINREP).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • A structured, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable mindset.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, IT, or a related field.
  • Strong affinity for technology and data-driven processes.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary or agile teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
