Job Summary:
We're a growing startup restaurant looking for a passionate and reliable Cook who can contribute to both kitchen operations and the overall success of our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the dynamic nature of startup environments—flexible, hands-on, and team-oriented. You'll primarily be responsible for food preparation and cooking but may be asked to support other areas of operations when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to menu, recipes, and quality standards
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients (washing, peeling, chopping, marinating, etc.)
- Assist with plating and packaging of meals for dine-in, takeout, or delivery
- Help plan and test new recipes or menu items during product development
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and workspaces
- Assist in inventory management, including receiving and organizing supplies
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Cooperate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Step in to assist with front-of-house tasks (e.g., plating, serving, cashiering) when needed during peak times or limited staffing
- Help set up or close down kitchen operations depending on the shift
- Uphold food safety standards and comply with local health regulations
Qualifications:
- Experience in a restaurant or food business preferred (but we also value attitude and willingness to learn)
- TESDA certification or culinary background a plus but not required
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and support teammates when needed
- Able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and evolving environment
- Good communication and time management skills
- Must be honest, dependable, and customer-focused
- Willing to work on weekends and holidays, with appropriate compensation
