**Position Title: Accounting Manager

Department: Finance**

Duties and Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager will oversee the company's overall accounting operations and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves supervising accounting staff, managing reporting and compliance processes, providing financial insights to management, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The Accounting Manager will also play a key role in process improvement and cross-departmental coordination to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, management reports, and forecasts in accordance with company policies and applicable financial standards.
  • Supervise and review the preparation of accounting reports such as account balances, cost tracking, budget utilization, and variance analyses.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process in coordination with department heads to align with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Review and approve invoices, expense report, and other financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policy.
  • Ensure timely collection and disbursement of funds, validating accuracy of transactions in the financial system.
  • Oversee general ledger and bank books maintenance and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of accounting records.
  • Reconcile passbooks, ledgers, and accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and government regulatory requirements (e.g. BIR, SSS, Philhealth, Pag-IBIG).
  • Recommend and implement accounting process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members, promoting professional growth and high performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial transparency and organizational compliance.

Other Duties

  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned by the CFO and/or CEO based on operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), tax laws, and governemtn reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems/software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Solid understanding of payroll, taxation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable process.
  • Proven ability in budget planning, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, monitor, and develop accounting staff.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
