Materials and Equipment Engineer Brief Description
The Materials and Equipment Engineer ensures the availability, quality, and proper utilization of construction materials, tools, and heavy equipment at the project site. Responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling material usage, equipment deployment, and ensuring compliance with technical standards to support timely project completion.
Detailed Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Materials Management
- Review project specifications and ensure that all construction materials meet required standards.
- Monitor material consumption and recommend efficient usage to avoid wastage.
- Conduct inspection and testing of materials in coordination with the Quality Control/Materials Engineer.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of required materials.
- Equipment Management
- Plan and oversee the mobilization, allocation, and utilization of heavy equipment and construction machinery.
- Monitor equipment performance, usage hours, and schedule preventive maintenance with the equipment/plant department.
- Recommend equipment replacement, rental, or repair as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards for operation and handling.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of material inventory, equipment logs, and utilization reports.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly updates on material status, equipment performance, and forecast requirements.
- Prepare documentation for audit and project monitoring.
- Coordination & Support
- Work closely with Site Engineers, Procurement, Warehouse, and Project Management to meet operational requirements.
- Support cost control by monitoring material wastage and equipment downtime.
- Provide technical input on material selection and equipment suitability.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all materials comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and government regulations.
- Promote safe handling, storage, and use of materials and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
- Preferably licensed Engineer (Civil/Mechanical).
- At least 3–5 years' experience in materials and equipment management in a construction project.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, heavy equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
- Proficient in MS Office and construction management software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and coordination skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php23, Php25,000.00 per month
