  1. Inspects work sites and reports conditions and practices not in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and project safety plan.
  2. Observes operation and activities and reports unsafe acts and behaviors.
  3. Investigates accidents, near misses and safety-related events.
  4. Identifies project hazards form analyses of accident reports and hazards reports.
  5. Make hazard analysis of work methods and procedures.
  6. Acts as secretary of the Health & Safety Committee by recording hazards and safety concerns being discussed in committee meetings.
  7. Evaluates risks of recognized hazards to determine priorities of corrective actions and levels of concern.
  8. Communicates promptly high level risks to concerned parties.
  9. Stops immediately operation of project or activity in case of imminent danger.
  10. Reviews corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety standards and recommends revisions or improvements as called for.
  11. Conducts safety training (orientation, PPE emergency response, etc).
  12. Verifies and reports status of action items from inspection reports, observation reports, accident investigation reports, hazard analysis reports, safety committee minutes, safety reports, and other safety-related reports.
  13. Periodically provides meaningful safety statistics and safety performance measurements.
    1. Must be a license engineer.
