Job Responsibilities
Client Management

• Responsible for all SMSF compliance-related matters for assigned clients
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
• Prepare amendments of activity statements as needed
• Prepare financial statements, including depreciation schedules and meeting minutes
• Review BGL-prepared income tax returns
• Prepare Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations
• Ensure lodgment deadlines are met
• Monitor and follow up on tax payments due
• Communicate with clients and provide timely updates
• Identify and recommend additional work or services that may benefit the client
• Review client needs for potential referral to financial advisory services (insurance, loans/mortgages, wealth planning)

Collaboration with Senior Accountant

• Conduct After Action Reviews (AAR) and schedule follow-up meetings
• Coordinate regularly with the Senior Accountant to ensure alignment on client matters
• Use @mentions in emails and tasks for visibility and to avoid duplication of work

Targets and Performance

• Follow weekly focus schedules and complete planned jobs on time
• Meet monthly billing targets
• Update the scheduling tool with billing details and job information
• Stay updated on relevant SIS Act, SMSF compliance requirements, and taxation laws
• Research and interpret taxation and compliance legislation accurately
• Participate in internal and external training as required
• Maintain CPD requirements and update the activity register according to CLM standards or professional memberships

Work Standards

• Deliver accurate, professional work aligned with CLM procedures and systems
• Maintain current and accurate client files with detailed and dated notes
• Record all communications correctly in FYI
• Seek assistance promptly to avoid workflow delays
• Support team members and collaborate effectively
• Coordinate with the Senior Accountant to manage time and workload
• Support the adoption of new systems and procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience using BGL software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to provide advice to senior managers based on sound technical knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Initiative, willingness to learn, and a positive, proactive attitude
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to balance task-oriented work with strategic client insights
• High level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Commerce, major in Accounting or Finance
