We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive Intermediate Accountant who will assist in completing accounting, compliance, and tax-related work. The ideal candidate must be eager to learn, able to work independently, and capable of supporting senior team members in delivering high-quality client service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Individual Tax Returns
  • Preparation of Financial Statements and Non-Individual Tax Returns (Partnerships, Trusts, Companies)
  • Preparation of SMSF Returns
  • Preparation of BAS/IAS and Annual BAS Reconciliation
  • Annual bookkeeping for selected clients
  • Payroll processing for selected clients and STP Finalization
  • Annual Bank Reconciliation
  • Processing superannuation payments via Small Business Clearing House
  • Assisting Junior Accountants with queries and work-related issues
  • Maintains and updates books and records of clients through Cashman, Xero, and MYOB
  • Prepares working papers to support reconciliations, draft reports, and tax computations
  • Coordinates with Senior Accountants and Account Managers regarding issues related to tax compliance and client operations
  • Sends follow-up requests and documentation lists to clients as needed
  • Works closely with senior team members and managers to understand workflows and client requirements

Experience & Attributes:

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years Australian accounting and taxation experience
  • Proficient in preparation of financial statements, tax returns, BAS, and bookkeeping tasks
  • Experienced with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, Cashman, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical and software skills

    Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
  • Ability to handle additional tasks when required
