About the Role

The Field Verification Officer is responsible for conducting on-ground customer verification and KYC (Know Your Customer) processes to ensure accurate and compliant onboarding of MSMEs and retail clients. This role is critical in bridging customer acquisition and credit risk operations by validating documents, gathering business information, and ensuring data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field visits to verify customer identities, business operations, and documents.
  • Collect, validate, and upload KYC requirements (government IDs, permits, business documents).
  • Ensure all KYC submissions comply with internal and regulatory standards (BSP, AMLA, Data Privacy).
  • Capture and record additional customer details (store photos, location landmarks, invoices) as part of verification.
  • Report and escalate suspicious or incomplete documents to the Risk and Compliance team.
  • Ensure strict adherence to anti-fraud protocols and credit initiation policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of customer information.
  • Update CRM or onboarding tools with verified data in real-time.
  • Track progress of accounts through the KYC funnel, ensuring timely turnaround.
  • Coordinate with the Acquisition and Credit Operations teams to address bottlenecks in the customer onboarding process.
  • Explain the product, credit terms, and next steps to customers during field visits.
  • Address customer questions regarding requirements and application processes.
  • Build trust and confidence with customers by ensuring transparency and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in field verification, credit initiation, collections, or customer onboarding (preferably in fintech, microfinance, or lending institutions).
  • Strong knowledge of KYC and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory and conduct multiple field visits per day.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, disciplined, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using mobile apps, CRM tools, and Google Workspace/Excel.
