III. Job DescriptionA. Purpose and Scope
The Branch Manager (BM) oversees all branch-level operations, ensuring the security and growth of the portfolio, adherence to organizational policies, delivery of excellent customer service, and effective management of both clients and staff.
The BM has full financial and administrative authority within the branch and is responsible for achieving operational targets while upholding organizational values and standards.
B. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and review all financial records such as the BM Register, cashbook, collection sheets, deposit slips, and other account-related forms submitted by Trust Staff (TS) daily.
- Lead branch planning activities, including group formation, loan approval, credit disbursement, and collection of overdue loans. Personally verify and approve group formation after assessing members' socioeconomic conditions.
- Visit each client's residence at least once per loan cycle to validate proposed business ventures and ensure creditworthiness.
- Develop and implement annual financial plans for savings, credit, disbursement, and repayment, subject to approval by the central office.
- Conduct daily field monitoring by visiting at least two client groups to validate records, cross-check accounts, and evaluate Trust Staff performance.
- Manage branch operational expenses, including payment of bills and procurement of office supplies.
- Submit timely financial and operational reports to the central office, including:
- Monthly Time Plan Organizer: every last working day of the preceding month
- Monthly Progress Report: on or before the 5th day of the succeeding month
- Weekly Branch Report: every Monday
- Ensure proper coordination with the Operations Manager regarding cash flow projections, disbursement targets, and income/expenditure reports.
- Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to branch staff to ensure alignment with performance goals and organizational values.
C. Organizational Relationships
The Branch Manager reports directly to the Area Manager and supervises all staff within the branch.
IV. Job RequirementsA. Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Management, Accountancy, Entrepreneurship, or any related field that provides a solid foundation for microfinance operations.

- Understanding of lending processes, credit management, and business analysis
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in computer applications (MS Office and related systems)
