Are you a strategic information risk leader passionate about advancing control testing automation and assurance effectiveness? This senior role offers the opportunity to drive innovation and efficiency in a global risk management program within a leading financial organization.


About the Role

As Director, Global Information Risk Management, you'll play a key role in supporting the Global Information Risk Assurance Program. Reporting to the AVP, Global Information Risk Assurance, you'll lead the development and implementation of automation strategies that enhance control testing, assurance efficiency, and risk visibility across the enterprise.

This is a high-impact role within the 2nd line risk organization, ideal for a proven leader with deep experience in assurance, risk automation, and information security oversight.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an automation strategy and roadmap to improve assurance efficiency and deliver productivity targets.
  • Identify opportunities for control testing automation and manage the automation pipeline.
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of Automated Control Tests (ACTs).
  • Partner with global information risk, technology, and assurance teams to deliver on the automation roadmap.
  • Promote a strong, proactive information risk culture across the organization.
  • Stay current with evolving regulatory, cybersecurity, information protection, and privacy requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise information risk management standards, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Advise senior management on risk treatment options and ensure informed decision-making.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and peers globally.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive leadership in information risk, assurance, or technology risk management.
  • Proven experience in IT controls assurance, automation, and data analytics.
  • Strong background in process improvement and control testing oversight (2nd line preferred).
  • Deep understanding of risk frameworks and industry best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT).
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical issues to non-technical audiences and senior executives.
  • Demonstrated strengths in collaboration, problem-solving, and influencing risk decisions.
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. and Canadian regulatory environments.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, FAIR, or MBCP.
