KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
  • Conduct negotiations to secure favorable terms on pricing, delivery schedules, and service levels.
  • Oversee supplier performance to ensure compliance with contracts, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Implement a vendor management system to track performance, maintain records, and manage contracts.

Procurement Operations:

  • Supervise day-to-day procurement activities, including the sourcing, ordering, and delivery of materials and services.
  • Ensure procurement operations follow established procedures, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other internal departments to meet project timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Manage inventory control to avoid overstocking and understocking of critical materials.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Collaborate with finance and project management teams to forecast procurement needs based on project plans.
  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with financial constraints.
  • Provide reports on procurement performance, highlighting savings, efficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Manage procurement risks, including supplier reliability, price volatility, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Implement and oversee procurement best practices to reduce fraud, waste, and other risks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Construction & Engineering
  • Knowledge in Construction Materials and Vendor Contracts or Agreements.
  • At least 3-5 years of relative experience in Purchasing, Subcontracting and Asset/Inventory Management.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in procurement, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role, ideally in real estate or construction.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of local and international supplier markets, particularly within the real estate and construction sectors.
