  • Lead comprehensive assessment and analysis of existing database landscapes to understand dependencies, data volumes, and compatibility for migration.
  • Develop detailed migration strategies and roadmaps including platform selection (AWS, Azure), migration tools, timelines, and resource planning.
  • Design scalable, high-performance, and resilient cloud database architectures optimized for the target cloud environment.
  • Plan and execute database migration activities including data replication, schema transformation, and synchronization using native cloud migration services (e.g., AWS DMS, Azure Database Migration Service, Google Database Migration Service).
  • Implement advanced automation frameworks for repeatable and efficient migration processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and scripting.
  • Ensure tight integration and coordination with application, infrastructure, and security teams for seamless cutover, rollback, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Define and enforce data security architectures, including encryption, access controls, auditing, and compliance with global standards.
  • Monitor migration progress, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance during and post-migration.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, migration plans, and reports for stakeholders.
  • Drive adoption of modern cloud database technologies and best practices within the organization.

Good-to-Have

  • Extensive experience leading enterprise-scale database migrations across on-premises and multiple cloud platforms.
  • Strong expertise in database technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and cloud-native databases like Aurora, Cosmos DB, Cloud Spanner.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, and their database migration tools.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages (Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
  • Deep understanding of database security, compliance frameworks, and data governance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with experience managing technical teams.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication for articulating complex technical reports and collaborating with stakeholders
