The Waypoints Project is a multi-stakeholder initiative composed of maritime security specialists, practitioners, scientists, academics, and development workers. We work to strengthen civil maritime security institutions in the Philippines, enhance cooperation in the sector, and advocate for the effective use and protection of our marine resources amidst escalating regional challenges. We do this by way of fostering multi-sectoral discourse and providing research and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders.

We are looking for a Project Manager who will lead the coordination and implementation of The Waypoints Project's activities, ensuring that the objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner.

This is a Consultancy Position; hybrid work arrangement, but 80% onsite operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of project activities.
  • Coordinate with diverse stakeholders including from relevant government agencies, civil society, academe, and local communities.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
  • Support consensus-building efforts and facilitate workshops, forums, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Conduct research and draft studies, reports, and policy papers that highlight project activities and advocacy.
  • Monitor risks, challenges, and opportunities in the maritime security and marine resource protection space.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in project management, with experience in development, security, environmental, marine or maritime-related fields.
  • Proven capacity to perform effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent coordination, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multi-sector stakeholders.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Graduate degree in public policy, international relations, marine/environmental sciences, development studies, or related fields preferred.
