Duties and responsibilities
- Purchasing support: Purchase office supplies, equipment, and groceries as directed by the purchasing or admin team.
- Courier and delivery services: Deliver and pick up important documents, parcels, and other items from various locations, such as banks, government offices, and partner establishments.
- Errand management: Run general errands, including paying utility bills, processing permits, and performing bank transactions.
- Transportation: Transport members of the purchasing department to meetings or vendor locations as needed, if applicable.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of all tasks performed, including official receipts, delivery logs, and other required documentation for liquidation and record-keeping.
- Vehicle maintenance: If a company vehicle is used, ensure it is properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Clerical assistance: Perform general office tasks like filing documents, organizing paperwork, and assisting the administrative or purchasing team.
- Inventory assistance: Help receive, store, and organize incoming supplies and packages.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
- Organizational skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
- Dependability: A reliable and punctual work ethic is essential for ensuring timely deliveries and transactions.
- Attention to detail: A high level of accuracy is needed when handling financial transactions, documentation, and deliveries.
- Problem-solving: The ability to think critically and solve unexpected issues, such as delivery delays or damaged goods.
- Knowledge of local area: Familiarity with the general delivery area and local traffic patterns to plan the most efficient routes.
- Physical stamina: The capacity to be physically active for extended periods and, if necessary, lift and carry packages.
- Driver's license: A valid driver's license and clean driving record are typically required for roles involving a company vehicle.
- Educational background: A high school diploma or GED equivalent is generally the minimum educational requirement.
- Experience: Previous experience in a messenger, utility, or delivery position is often preferred.
