Financial Accountant

Your Role as Financial Accountant
As a
Financial Accountant,
you'll take ownership of core financial processes including month-end reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and tax compliance. You'll also collaborate across teams and support process improvement projects that help us work smarter, not harder.

Key Responsibilities
Month-End Reporting & Reconciliations

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Complete month-end journals (accruals, prepayments, amortization)
• Reconcile sales from Abacus to Xero
• Review and post depreciation for Fixed Asset Register (FAR)
• Deliver monthly management accounting reports
• Calculate interest payments

Sales & Operational Support

• Monitor Accounts Receivable weekly
• Handle bank reconciliations and supplier payment runs
• Process fortnightly payroll

Tax & Compliance

• Collate and submit tax information (Income Tax, GST, FBT, PAYG)
• Prepare annual financial statements
• Liaise with external tax accountants

Cross-Team Coordination

• Work with the Finance Manager Greenslate
• Collaborate with YKP (Family and Trust Companies)
• Contribute to projects and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• CA or CPA qualified (or actively working towards certification)
• 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting
• Advanced proficiency in Xero
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations and payroll compliance
• Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and reporting skills
• High attention to detail and systems thinking
