The Role – Estimator

Our Estimators focus on delivering accurate, efficient, and effective quantity surveying and cost estimation for our delivery teams. Our projects range from medium to high complexity in commercial fit-out. Working with key stakeholders to provide the most cost-effective plans that meet high-quality standards, the role focuses on analyzing costs as well as optimizing cost strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret client requirements and documentation (for example,
  • Architectural plans and services drawings) to prepare and submit tenders and estimates
  • Prepare takeoff and detailed measure
  • Prepare the scope of works for trades
  • Assist in obtaining quotations for the procurement of FFE (finishes, furniture, and equipment)
  • Trade pricing comparison and reconciliation
  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, material, equipment, and labor expenses.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years estimation experience working on various projects within fit-out, new build, refurbishment, and hospitality style fit-outs; ranging from $.5mill. to $10mill.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction, and Construction
  • Management, Construction Engineering, or similar.
  • Experience with the Australian construction industry, particularly with commercial fit-out in either an estimation or quality surveying role
  • Experience using estimating software – CostX or similar
  • Desirable to have construction software knowledge – Nexvia or similar
  • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry
  • Demonstrated experience in the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
