Oversees financial planning, reporting, and control activities to support the operational and strategic goals of the company. In a fast-paced express delivery environment, this role ensures the accuracy of financial records, regulatory compliance, and provides financial insights to help management make informed business decisions. The Senior Finance Officer also supervises junior finance staff and supports the CFO/Finance Manager in driving cost efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor revenues, expenses, and profitability of operations (including hubs, warehouses, and fleet operations).
  • Provide financial forecasts, variance analysis, and management reports for decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts and timely closing of books.

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Track cost drivers specific to logistics and delivery operations (e.g., fuel, fleet maintenance, manpower).
  • Recommend cost-saving measures while ensuring service quality is maintained.

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with BIR, SEC, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary schedules and documents.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial integrity.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor daily cash flow and ensure adequate funds for operational requirements.
  • Manage receivables and payables, including COD (Cash-on-Delivery) collections and partner settlements.
  • Oversee banking transactions, deposits, and fund transfers.

Team Supervision & Support

  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff.
  • Provide guidance on proper accounting practices and financial procedures.
  • Support cross-functional departments (HR, Operations, Admin) with financial analysis and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • Preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting/finance, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Background in logistics, courier, supply chain, or related industry is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), taxation, and BIR compliance.
  • Proficient in accounting systems (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • High integrity and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
