Job Summary:

The Tender Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end tendering process to secure new business opportunities and maintain existing contracts. This role involves coordinating with internal stakeholders, preparing and submitting high-quality tender responses, ensuring compliance with client requirements, and maintaining a strong understanding of market conditions and company capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the entire tender process from expression of interest to contract award.
  • Review tender documentation to understand client requirements, timelines, and submission procedures.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments (technical, legal, finance, operations, etc.) to gather necessary input for tender proposals.
  • Develop tender strategies and work plans to ensure timely and competitive submissions.
  • Prepare and write compelling, accurate, and well-structured tender documents, including technical and financial proposals.
  • Ensure tenders are compliant with legal, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a database of submitted tenders, outcomes, and feedback for continual improvement.
  • Analyze win/loss trends and develop strategies to improve bid success rates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers as needed.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, legislation, and competitor activity.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Procurement, or related field (required)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in tender/bid management, contracts, or procurement
  • Experience with public and private sector tendering processes

Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of procurement platforms (e.g., e-Tendering systems)
  • Ability to analyze technical and financial information
