About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer Lead to join our dynamic team at AXOS BUSINESS CENTER CORP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers / Test Engineers, including setting expectations, reviewing work, providing coaching, feedback, and helping grow their skills (both technical and soft skills).
  • Define, plan, and own the test strategy and overall quality approach for projects / squads — including functional, regression, integration, performance, and (where applicable) system / end-to-end testing.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and evolution of test automation frameworks and tools. Promote automation for repeatable and scalable testing.
  • Ensure that the team's testing efforts align with product requirements, specifications, design documents, and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with product, development, operations, and DevOps teams to ensure quality is built in from early in the software development lifecycle (shift-left).
  • Prioritize testing workloads, defects, and bug‐fixing based on business risk and impact. Manage test schedules and resource allocation.
  • Monitor, track, and report quality metrics (defect rates, test coverage, automation coverage, test pass/fail trends, etc.) to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in requirement review, design review, and code reviews as needed to ensure quality considerations are included early.
  • Drive continuous improvement of QE practices: processes, tools, release quality, test efficiency, reducing manual thorns, etc.
  • Handle escalations related to quality issues, and ensure proper root cause analysis (RCA) is performed and lessons are implemented.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2+ years' experience in a quality assurance lead or supervisory role.
  • 5+ years' experience in quality assurance.
  • Proven experience in backend / application testing and quality engineering.
  • Strong skills in writing automated tests; experience with frameworks/tools like Selenium, Playwright, JUnit/TestNG, or similar.
  • Experience with continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and test automation in such environments.
  • Experience in analyzing logs, system behavior; comfortable with debugging, error handling, and setting up monitoring.
  • Solid knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL), API testing, integration testing.
  • Familiar with cloud / containerization / orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) – helpful but not always mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to liaise with product and engineering to define quality goals and trade‐offs.
  • Leadership / mentorship ability. Responsible, organized, detail‐oriented.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
