About the Role

The Controller will play a pivotal role in supporting the COO with day-to-day financial management and safeguarding the accuracy and compliance of all financial reporting. This role oversees financial statement preparation, month-end close, internal controls, audits, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate has deep accounting expertise, a strong command of full-cycle accounting, excellent English communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with accuracy and compliance.
• Lead and maintain the month-end close process (including consolidation of multi entity group structure with different currencies, adjustments, eliminations, etc.), ensuring timely and complete reporting.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal control systems.
• Maintain accurate general ledger, chart of accounts, and journal entries.
• Manage AP/AR, billing, collections, and vendor payments.
• Ensure proper revenue recognition and expense classification.

Audit, Compliance & Tax

• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and supporting year-end audit with a big 4 auditor.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist with tax filings and collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization (including maintaining cash runway and burn, scenario planning, hiring and headcount planning).
• Support the COO with cash flow management, forecasting, and financial planning.

Payroll & Compensation

• Manage the full payroll process, including Salary, bonuses, commissions, benefits, deductions, and taxes.
• Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, systems, and reporting efficiency.
• Improve and automate accounting and reporting workflows, document processes and build scalable finance infrastructure.

Competencies and Qualifications

Must-Have

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5-10+ years of full cycle accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller/VP Finance or similar senior accounting roles.
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience.
• Proven ability to prepare and review complete financial statements.
• Excellent knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
• Proven ability to work with usage based ARR models.
• Proficiency with financial software (QuickBooks).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
• Excellent English communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and senior leadership.

Nice-To-Have

• CPA certification.
• Experience working in fintech or SaaS environments.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards and multi-currency financial management.
• Prior experience supporting audit coordination and tax preparation.
