About the role

ARTECH TECHNOLOGY INC' is seeking a talented Application Developer to join our team in Quezon City Metro Manila. As a contract role, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge applications using COBOL on the z/OS platform. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise and contribute to the success of our innovative technology company.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, develop and maintain complex COBOL applications running on the z/OS operating system
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Write clean, efficient and well-documented code that meets quality standards
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment and maintenance
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, providing support and troubleshooting as needed
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest COBOL and z/OS technologies and best practices

What we're looking for

  • Proficiency in COBOL programming and experience working with the z/OS platform
  • JLPT N3 Japanese language proficiency or equivalent
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
