Job Summary:

The Surveyor is responsible for conducting accurate land and property surveys to support engineering, construction, and land development projects. This role involves collecting and analyzing geospatial data, preparing survey maps and reports, and collaborating with engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure precise measurements and compliance with design specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys on land sites and properties to determine boundaries, elevations, and features.
  • Examine previous survey records, deeds, and other data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Research and design appropriate survey methods and procedures for each project.
  • Use surveying instruments and tools (e.g., total station, GPS, GIS) to measure land features such as coordinates, elevations, longitudes, and latitudes.
  • Prepare and develop maps, sketches, charts, and survey drawings.
  • Supervise, train, and provide guidance to field survey staff.
  • Maintain and calibrate all surveying equipment and instruments.
  • Analyze and compile survey data into comprehensive reports for submission and presentation to clients or project managers.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide accurate data for design and implementation.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Surveyor or in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of GPS, GIS, and total station operations.
  • Proficient in CAD software and other surveying-related applications.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geodetic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Licensed or Certified Geodetic Engineer is an advantage.
